Is the electric car jsut another passing fad?
An indicator for this is the fact that the year 2011 was the most expensive year ever to drive a car in germany! And this trend won’t reverse in the long term. Besides the economocal aspect also the ecological view shouldn’t be underestimated. Electric cars have a high potential for beeing really “green”, especially due to the ambitious plans for the implementation of renewable energies in the energy system of a broad variety of countries worldwide. For this reason many international companies and governments focus on this technology to become the main element of the future mobility.
A great advantage of electric mobility is the possibility for different combinations of drive trains. For example electric cars with a small combustion engine or fuel cell as a range extender (for the longer distances) offer the guarantee that most of the daily drives can be done purely electric, however without the fear of running out of energy during longer trips. Therefore in the future there will be electric or hybrid cars for every need, which increase the efficiency in the transport sector and lower the overall emissions.
As you all know, there was a time when electric cars vanished from the streets as fast as they emerged, yet the time has changed and the urgency for a rethinking of the mobility in general should be obvious.
That was the short outline of the sixth chapter of our eBook The Top 10 FAQ about electric cars.I hope you liked this post. More detailled information you can find in the book.
